Black Development: Meet The Black Woman Disrupting The Roller Skating World

Previously reported on entrepreneur Adrienne Cooper and her company Moonlight x Mobile bringing classic roller skating rings to your home for special events. Now, she is expanding her empire to include her own line of roller skates called The Moon Boot.

According to Black News, Cooper has garnered over $3 million in sales since debuting the new collection in May 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Her early video reviewing the boots garnered over 10,000 views on their YouTube. The skates are available nationwide for international delivery to countries such as Australia and the United Kingdom.

“The skates like sold out overnight and I was like OMG we have to have employees to sell these skates,” she said in an interview with WRCB-TV. “Inspiring to Black women, inspiring to veterans, inspiring to women in general. They can do something that people think is a niche and maybe one day it’ll blow up.”

Cooper made headlines in late 2019 when actress Taraji P. Henson rented her mobile skating rink for her birthday that she posted a clip of on her Instagram page. She was recently listed on Forbes 30 under 30 list for sports.
